Never in a million years did I think I would ever end up falling in love with photographing boudoir. I kind of fell into the genre of boudoir, actually. I am always learning and improving my craft and one day I stumbled upon a boudoir photographer in Texas whose work I really loved. She encouraged photographers to test their posing and lighting on themselves rather than models because it's so beneficial. By not having to hire a professional model and having to pose my own body, instead, I could practice any time I wanted to and I also gained the added benefit of knowing how the poses feel for my clients, which is invaluable! So that's how it started. I set my camera up on a timer and away I went. The results were amazing, and it's not the images I'm referring to.
The amazing moment was how I felt when I looked at my boudoir photos. For the first time in nearly a decade, I liked the way I looked in my photos. Not because my hair and makeup were done or I had on amazing lingerie, but I loved my photos because they were me-untouched, and I loved them. Through lighting and posing I was able to camouflage the areas I perceived as "trouble areas", you know the post-baby abdomen, cellulite that every human that doesn't live in a gym has, and I was able to pose my body in a way that accentuated the parts I love. And that was it. I was hooked and wanted to give that experience to every single person I possibly could.
Lunar Body Boudoir was born out of that desire to provide a warm, welcoming space for people to feel 100% relaxed, to feel special and worthy of a luxury boudoir experience where they are treated to professional hair and makeup artistry, mimosas, hot tea or coffee, and a model-for-a-day experience that transforms the way the see themselves.
The name for my boudoir brand is very significant to my mission. The mission for my Tampa boudoir studio is to help women of all ages and stages of life to love and appreciate themselves as they are because, just like the moon's phases, we, too, are beautiful in every phase of our life. Your moon energy is symbolic of your inner Goddess, your dreams, your fears, and the things of your heart. It's the part of you that few to none are familiar with except you. That's what I try to capture. And this is the reason that no two boudoir photo shoots are exactly the same.
I have had the honor of providing a luxe, model-for-the-day boudoir session for women from Tampa, Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Wesley Chapel, New Port Richey, The Space Coast, Bradenton, Orlando, and all across the great Tampa Bay area.
