She Nearly Cancelled Her Photoshoot | Tampa Women's Portrait Photographer

Updated: Feb 24, 2021

It was the night prior to her scheduled photoshoot when I received a message from this beautiful client that read something like this, "I think I may have to cancel my photoshoot and reschedule for a future date further down the road because I just haven't been able to lose the weight I thought I would and I'm feeling like I'm in a bad funk right now."

Rather than feeling discouraged or frustrated by a request for a last minute reschedule, I got excited because, for me, that sounded like my dream client! My purpose behind each client photoshoot is to create an experience from start to finish that increases her confidence level, her self-worth, and to do so through a fun, relaxed photoshoot where she is the focus and enjoying first-class service.

I called her right away to check on her state of well-being, to dig deeper into what was going on and to see if there was a way I could help. After chatting together she decided that she would still come in for her photoshoot, and I think we are both really glad she did. She decided to be brave, overcome her self-doubt, and she trust me to do what I promised - I promised that she'd love her experience and her photos and half way through her photoshoot she had a smile on her face and told me that she was having a great time and that this was exactly the experience she needed to get her out of her funk.

Here's what she had to say about it in her own words.

  1. What kept you from experiencing a boudoir session sooner?I was insecure with my body and did not feel good about myself.

  2. What was your biggest concern or fear before your boudoir session and what put your fears to rest?I had gained some weight and did not feel comfortable showing my body. Jill took the time to talk me down from the ledge and made me feel good about myself from the inside out.

  3. What made you choose to treat yourself to a luxe boudoir experience over anything else you could have done?I wanted to feel sexy and good about myself again.

  4. How would you describe your self-esteem and self-confidence prior to your photo session and how is it now?My self esteem was zilch prior to the session. I would not have dreamed of putting on sexy garments with how I felt I looked. I LOVE my photos. I can see myself smiling from deep down inside. It was such a fun day and I felt and still feel, incredible

  5. If you were to recommend booking a boudoir session with me to your best friend or someone who is on the fence, what would you say?One of the best experiences I have had to date!

  6. Anything else you'd like to comment on or suggest:Every woman should treat herself to something that makes her feel good about herself.

In the end, I was humbled to have been part of her journey back to self-love and joy and she was reminded that her true beauty is not dependent upon a number on the scale. It was a good day and fun experience for both of us!
